Arizona Memorial Project
Sea Engineering, Inc. (SEI) served as a prime subcontractor to Hawk Contracting Group and Silver Mountain Construction, LLC for the National Park Service on the repairs to the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial floating dock. The project goal was to repair the floating dock assembly at the memorial to allow re-installation of the access bridge and restore public access to this vital piece of American history. Sea Engineering provided on water and in water services including demolition of the existing anchor system, installation of a new helical anchor deep foundation system up to 125 feet below the harbor bottom, installation of a new Seaflex flexible hawser mooring system, and testing of all mooring elements.
Sea Engineering continued to raise the bar for on water and in water construction at Pearl Harbor by conducting daily boat and diving operations under EM 385-1-1 and with full confidence of the National Park Service and US Navy.
In 2020, the Hawaii Chapter of the General Contractors Association recognized the project in their annual Build Hawaii Awards program. Due to the unique challenges and the team’s approach to solving them, the committee awarded the project the Grand Award and an Award of Excellence.
In 2021 the project was further recognized on the national stage by the Association of General Contractors. The project was awarded a Build America Award in the Federal and Heavy Renovation category”
