The University of Hawaii Natural Energy Institute will lead a team of researchers to develop a wave energy converter. Although wave energy is not commercially viable anywhere on large-scale power grids, the next 15 years might bring about a big change. If successful, wave energy could be another tool to help the State of Hawaii achieve its renewable energy goals. Sea Engineering has been selected as a partner to assist with the deployment and management of wave energy devices at a test site on Oahu. A notable mention of such is in the March 13, 2019 edition of the Windward Oahu Voice.
