The seawall on the shoreline at Haleiwa Beach Park progressively deteriorated over many years. The seawall and the surrounding area were closed in April 2018 as a result of safety concerns from the destabilized structures, including the development of sinkholes and significant erosion. Sea Engineering Inc. served as the design-build contractor for the emergency stabilization of the seawall fronting Haleiwa Beach Park. The project included:
- Damage assessment
- Structural and geotechnical investigations
- Preparation of concept designs
- Detailed designs
- Permitting
- Construction.
